Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15 1960) is an American actor. Her work has earned her recognition by the media and for her television work since the 1980s. Her awards include two Golden Globe Awards, sixteen NAACP Image Awards as well as nominations for Academy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was raised in New York New York and raised by an aunt who lived in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Angela Bassett has been cast in the lead role of Ramonda for the action film, i.e. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022).
